Our staff are passionate about THEIR work and aim to return you back to the activities you love as soon as possible.

At Miramar Physiotherapy you can feel assured about the ability of your physiotherapist as we all have extensive postgraduate training and experience.
We are committed to ongoing education and regularly undertake training to keep up-to-date with the latest treatment options.

Paul Kuggeleijn

Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago University in 1993. Prior to this he completed a 4 year degree in Physical Education. He started working in private practice in 1994 & also began the 3-year post-graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (DipMT). Paul graduated from this course in1996, also concurrently passing the year-long PAANZ Acupuncture course. Paul has acted as the physiotherapist for numerous local, national & international sports teams.

Julie Norris

Julie graduated from Otago in 1988 as the top academic student. Over the past 30 years she has gained wide ranging experience working in several diverse clinical environments throughout NZ as well as in the UK. During her 3 year stay in England, she completed the Diploma in Cyriax Medicine. Back in NZ, she successfully passed the 3 year DipMT in 1996; then as acted as a clinical supervisor as well as an assistant tutor for the course. She worked at Khandallah Physiotherapy for almost 5 years before buying Miramar Physiotherapy with her husband Paul. Her special area of interest is posture-related/muscle imbalance problems.

Rob Edwards

Rob graduated with a Doctor of Physiotherapy degree from Macquarie University, Sydney in 2017. Having previously worked as chartered accountant he is thoroughly enjoying the challenge of getting people back to the activities they enjoy. Rob has had experience as a sports physiotherapist for a variety of sports teams in Australia. Being originally from London, he also has worked in private practice in the UK. Rob has recently moved with his wife from Sydney to Wellington to join our team.

Georgia Manikum Hannay

Georgia graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Physiotherapy Degree from Sheffield Hallam University, UK in 2015. She worked for Bristol Community Health for 2 years as a rotational physiotherapist as well as 2 seasons for Dings Crusaders Rugby Club. During her 2 years of practice in the UK she has developed her experience in a wide range of clinical settings, especially musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Prior to graduating as a Physiotherapist, Georgia fenced for Great Britain allowing her to travel and compete around the world. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games Georgia was part of the Silver Medal winning Scottish Fencing team. She moved to New Zealand to join our team in March 2018.

Leigh Wallace

Administration Manager
Leigh is our Administration and Accreditation Manager. She is also our Health and Safety Officer. Coming from a long retail background Leigh has now worked at the clinic for almost 5 years. With a passion for looking after people she will make you feel welcome and be happy to help.

Kay Mahoney

Kay, our morning receptionist, had been a resident of Miramar for 47 years before moving to the central city. She has has worked at the clinic for almost 30 years - so there is not many of you that she won't know! She has a very close family with 4 grown -up boys who keep her life interesting. She also has 5 grandsons and one grand-daughter. Kay pretty much keeps the practice running is always willing to help with any queries you may have.

Nina August

Nina is our part–time receptionist. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University of Wellington. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, Nina has been living in Wellington for the past 6 years where she has grown to love the windy city and the people in it. She is eager to lend a helping hand and strives to do her best at any task.
