ACC INFORMATION

If you have seen your GP before attending physiotherapy, your GP will have determined whether your injury is covered by ACC.

If you attend Miramar Physiotherapy directly and your injury is the result of an accident, you will be asked to complete the ACC details on the consent form at your first visit.

ACC defines an accident as:

“A specific event, or series of events, that involves the application of a force or resistance external to the human body, and is not a gradual process.”

We are legally required to follow ACC guidelines. If you are unsure whether your injury meets ACC criteria, please discuss this with your physiotherapist.

Visitors to New Zealand

All visitors to New Zealand are covered by ACC for injuries resulting from accidents during their stay. Please be aware that lodging an ACC claim does not guarantee acceptance. All claims are assessed by ACC, and if a claim is declined, private treatment fees will apply.

You’re welcome to book online, but we’re always happy to hear from you.
