Cold temperatures, wet weather, changes in air pressure and decreased activity may leave your muscles and joints feeling stiff and achey during the winter months. Here are some tips to try and help you withstand the season!
Poor foot position causes uneven loading through the joints in your legs & feet and also encourages abnormal muscle pull. This can lead to sore feet, achey legs, knee & hip problems and low back pain.
Correcting your foot mechanics often results in an instant improvement in your symptoms.
At Miramar Physiotherapy are fully trained to assess common foot problems and can generally correct these with the appropriate orthotic device in your shoes, taping and exercises.
Braces and supports can be an effective way of keeping you active while supporting injured or irritable joints. At Miramar Physiotherapy we stock a selection of braces that we endorse and are happy to advise you on which type would be most beneficial for your problem.
